The winter vacations have been formally declared by the Director General of FDE for Islamabad schools and colleges. According to the official notification of the FDE, all schools and Colleges under the FDE will take winter vacations from 25th to 29th December, while 30th and 31st will be Saturday and Sunday.
Educational institutions will open for academic work on 1 January 2024. The urban as well as the rural schools/colleges of Islamabad had their adjustment of operation hours last month that resulted from the reduced temperatures.
According to the statement given by the FDE, this new regime of time shall prevail till the 31st of January 2024. For single-shift institutes, the new schedule entails operations from 8: 3 PM to 2 PM on Monday-Thursday, and the early closure of 12 PM.
Similarly, the FDE issued revised times for two-shift schools in the federal territory. The morning session runs from 8: From 8.00am to 1.30pm (except Friday – 12.30pm).

The evening shift operates from 1: First shift extends from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday-Thursday, while the second shift begins at 14.30 on Fridays.
