Cricket fans, experts and the media are all curious about Hina Munawar’s appointment, although senior retired bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema will continue as the team manager.

Munawar has held various positions in security and law enforcement agencies after completing the Civil Superior Services examination.

In addition to joining the PCB last year,  Munawar was also named manager of the Pakistan Women’s Under-19 squad that went to the Asia Cup.

Since Hina is still employed with the Pakistan Police Service, it is believed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi brought her to the board on deputation.

Her appointment will bring fresh perspectives to the typically coaching-focused and male-dominated setup, which is part of the PCB’s aim to streamline team management and create a more organized and efficient workplace.
