The Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), the body responsible for verifying Matric and Intermediate certificates across the country, has eliminated the traditional process of submitting documents in sealed envelopes. Instead, a new Online Digital System has been introduced.
Under this system, the verification of Matric and Intermediate certificates from all 29 educational boards in the country will now be based on available online data and portal sharing. This verification will be used to authenticate students’ Matric and Intermediate documents. The new system will be implemented nationwide starting February 16, 2025, for all educational boards and students who have completed their Matric and Intermediate. It is important to note that IBCC verification is mandatory for students planning to study abroad, Express News Reported.
Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Director of IBCC, told The Express that this step has been taken to improve the efficiency of the document verification process. He explained that significant changes have been made to the verification process with the boards. He added that there were frequent complaints about candidates submitting sealed envelopes from their respective boards, only for the documents to later be found fake upon verification, as the boards did not authenticate them.
Traditionally, students were required to submit their documents in sealed envelopes from their boards for IBCC verification. Recognizing the need for modernization, the IBCC has digitized the process, eliminating the need for sealed envelopes.
Educational boards that already have their own digital verification systems have been connected to the IBCC Attestation Portal via APIs. This will allow verified data to be sent directly to the IBCC portal, and students will no longer need to bring verified documents in sealed envelopes.
For boards that do not have a digital infrastructure or lack online data, the IBCC has introduced a facility on its website. These boards can directly upload the relevant student data to the IBCC portal, ensuring a smooth verification process without any interruptions.
The IBCC has announced that starting February 16, 2025, it will no longer accept verification in sealed envelopes from boards. From that date onward, only data uploaded via APIs or the website facility will be accepted for document verification.
This initiative will not only improve the document verification process but also make it faster and more efficient. Additionally, it will reduce students’ expenses and eliminate the hassle of travel.
