Tickets for the highly anticipated Pak vs India match in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 are being resold at nearly seven times their original price. Originally priced at AED 500, general admission tickets are now listed for up to AED 3,500 on Facebook Marketplace and other classified sites.
Many cricket fans spent hours in online queues on Monday, hoping to secure tickets, only to find out they were sold out within an hour. Now, those same tickets are being resold at exorbitant prices.
Abdul Karim, a cricket enthusiast living in Sharjah, was one of those who tried to purchase tickets through the official website but failed. “In an attempt to obtain a Champions Trophy Tickets, I spent hours refreshing the page. However, they were all gone when it was my turn. Now, I see resellers demanding AED 3,500 or more. It’s extremely disappointing,” he said.
Karim added, “When I told a reseller I was willing to pay AED 200 above the original price, they got angry and asked if I even understood the value of this match.”
Many fans who missed out on the initial sale are now looking for ways to watch the game live on their screens. Another passionate cricket fan, Harish Das, expressed his frustration over the skyrocketing resale prices.
“I had set aside AED 500 to buy a ticket, but there’s no way I can spend over AED 1,000 for the match. It seems like this match is only for those who can afford to pay a premium,” he said. Das further added, “Ticket prices in Dubai are also much higher compared to India. The last option is to watch the match on a screen.”
Rising Demand
India-Pakistan matches are among the most sought-after fixtures in cricket, and ticket demand has been incredibly high. Some resellers claim they have been flooded with inquiries.
“We’ve received over 50 calls since yesterday asking for tickets. “Although many are haggling, they’re still interested at three times the price,” one reseller stated. They added, “Given the demand and excitement for this match, prices could rise even further as we get closer to the game.”
Another seller, who has tickets for all four matches in the UAE, is selling them in bulk for AED 6,000. They mentioned that there is significant interest from buyers willing to pay a premium for multiple games, including Pak vs India, India vs. Bangladesh, India vs. New Zealand, and the semi-finals.
A lot of supporters are searching for tickets for all matches, not only the Pak vs India matches.Considering the demand, bulk prices are quite reasonable compared to individual match ticket rates, and people are still negotiating,” they said.
With the match scheduled for February 23 at the Dubai International Stadium, the sky-high resale prices have dampened the enthusiasm of many fans who were unable to secure tickets during the official sale.
