Tea producers have increased their prices by Rs 200 per kilogram as a result of the 250 or so containers that were held at the port from late December 2022 to early January.
According to the information provided, importers’ difficulties clearing their containers led to an increase in the price of loose black tea of Rs 200 to Rs 1,800 per kilogram.
In a statement, the importers stated that 250 additional containers were on their way to Karachi and that almost 250 containers had been held up at the port since they arrived between late December 2022 and early January.
