Two security guards set an example by presenting gifts to Toshakhana

ISLAMABAD: Two lower-ranking security officers, a constable and a sepoy, set an example by depositing the gifts in Toshakhana in 2019, when everyone from the prime minister to the president to federal ministers was keeping the gifts they received while traveling abroad.

According to the Cabinet Division’s Toshakhana report, Sepoy Atiq ur Rehman, the SSG gunman, and Constable Malik Qasim Mehmood received wristwatches from the Paul Picot Company in December 2019, each with an estimated value of Rs120,000. Toshakhana was where the presents were left by the two security guards. Prime Minister Imran Khan went to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in December 2019.

Between the years 2002 and 2008, Toshakhana received a total of 2,249 gifts, 70 of which were sold at auction.
