ISLAMABAD: the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) submitted its report to the Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding the allocation of funds for the Punjab Election.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was instructed by the Supreme Court on April 4 to submit a report to it on Tuesday and set Monday (April 10) as the deadline for the government to distribute funds to the ECP.
After delivering the sealed report to the SC Registrar’s Office, ECP officials left the Supreme Court.
During their informal media interview, the officials stated that they are unaware of the report’s contents.

According to sources, the finance ministry has prepared a summary regarding the allocation of funds for the Punjab elections for the federal cabinet and Parliament.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, no funds were included in the budget for the elections, making it difficult to deduct Rs21 billion for the Punjab elections.
Schedule for the Punjab election
The Election Commission of Pakistan had previously made the schedule for the Punjab elections, which are scheduled to take place on May 14.
The notification issued by the electoral watchdog (ECP) states that the Punjab Assembly elections will take place on May 14, 2023. In addition, the ECP canceled its earlier plan to hold general elections in Punjab in October.
According to the timetable, requests can be recorded against the choices of Returning Officials in regards to dismissal or tolerating assignment papers on April 10.
