Punjab government introduced electric rickshaws to Stop the growing smog in the province. According to media reports, electric rickshaws have been introduced by the Punjab government to prevent air pollution in the province. The electric rickshaw developed in collaboration with the transport department and a local private company. This electric rickshaw can travel up to 150 km on a single charge. can travel which will help save fuel costs.
It has been reported that the electric rickshaw was introduced in a meeting chaired by Punjab Transport Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi. And the rate of noise pollution will decrease significantly.
It is being told that the Punjab government has taken a principled decision to stop Qingqi rickshaws in the province, 1 month time has been given to get Qingqi rickshaw approved by the Transport Department, registration of Chung Chi rickshaw manufacturing companies is also assured. It has been directed to make, after one month, unapproved and unregistered rickshaws will be completely stopped.
the Punjab government has also decided to give electric bikes to students. Under the new scheme, students of universities and colleges will be given electric bikes at a discounted price through lottery. Bank of Punjab should provide financial support to the provincial government.
The caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi announced to give electric bikes to the students, a formula of this scheme has been prepared, according to which in the first phase only for the students of universities and colleges. This scheme will be introduced, an 11-member sub-committee under the chairmanship of Secretary Transport is working on it, the scheme is likely to be approved next month.
