A total 28,626 candidates have submitted nomination papers for the upcoming general elections 2024 on 1,085 seats of the national and four provincial assemblies, including more than 3,000 women candidates.
According to the details released by the Election Commission, 7,242 male and 471 female candidates have appeared on 266 general seats of the National Assembly, similarly, 17,744 male and 802 female candidates. for 593 seats of the four provincial assemblies.
Punjab Assembly 8 ,592 men and 437 women submitted papers on 297 general seats,
Sindh Assembly 4,060 men and 205 women candidates have appeared on 130 general seats
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly 3,349 male and 115 female candidates have submitted papers on 115 general seats .
Balochistan Assembly 1,743 male and 45 female candidates have submitted nomination papers on 51 general seats.
Nomination papers have been submitted by 459 candidates for 60 reserved seats for women and 150 candidates for 10 reserved seats in the National Assembly.
Punjab Assembly, 601 candidates have appeared on 66 reserved seats for women and 127 candidates on 8 seats reserved for minorities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 321 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for 26 reserved seats for women and 74 candidates for 4 reserved seats for minorities.
Elections 2024, 28,626 candidates entered the fray for 1085 seats of national and provincial assemblies across the country.

The process of scrutiny of the nomination papers submitted by the candidates has started from today and will continue till December 30.
