A sexual harassment scandal has come to light at Chakdara University of Malakand.
Local police have registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by a female student from the sixth semester of the Pakistan Studies Department. In her complaint, the student alleged that a professor would invite female students to engage in inappropriate activities through various ways. He reportedly offered extra marks in exchange for naked videos of the girls. The student also accused the professor of attempting to abduct her by breaking into her home, Reported by 24News.
According to sources, the police have arrested Professor Abdul Haseeb, who is allegedly at the center of the sexual harassment case. He was taken into custody after nude videos were found on his phone. The administration of the University of Malakand had been trying to sweep the scandal under the rug but failed. Despite sexual harassment allegations against the professor surfacing from some students, the university administration had been reluctant to take action against him.
Malakand University stated that it has suspended the professor and that the harassment committee is handling the matter. The university added that further action will be taken against the professor if the allegations against him are proven.
