Imran Khan's speech ban notification suspended

The Lahore High Court has suspended the notification by PEMRA banning Imran Khan’s speeches.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of Lahore High Court gave a safe verdict, Imran Khan has challenged the ban notification by PEMRA in the High Court.

The court reserved its decision on the petition against PEMRA’s notification, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza said that the head of a political party cannot be banned in this way, it is against the freedom of expression.

Pemra’s counsel said that the matter cannot be heard here, the full bench has to hear, requesting the court that it has no jurisdiction.

Keil Imran Khan said that PEMRA has imposed a complete ban on the broadcast of Imran Khan’s speeches, banning statements and speeches is a violation of fundamental constitutional rights, the court annulled the ban on broadcasting of Imran Khan’s speech by PEMRA.
