ISLAMABAD: Pakistani pink salt is gaining popularity in China as Pakistan’s Consul General in Shanghai Hussain Haider said that Pakistan can further increase its exports to China by improving its marketing and packaging.
Gwadar Pro, the General Administration of Customs of China has found that the export of Pakistani pink salt to China in 2021 will reach $4,968,223 and will reach $5,747,492 in 2022. Exports of Pakistani Himalayan pink salt to China reached $2,694,493 in the first half of this year.
Ismail Sattar, chairman of the Salt Manufacturers Association, said that the popularity of pink salt is increasing, with the Pakistani government increasing exporters.

Wang Zhihai, Honorary Investment Consul of Pakistan in China highlighted in the webinar that the pink salt lamp works like an air purifier, killing bacteria and removing dust, allergens, smoke, odors and mold spores.
Further, Ghulam Qadir, Commercial Consul of the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing, has said that Pakistan’s sugar and sugar confectionary exports exceeded $18 million in the first six months of 2023.
