ISLAMABAD: Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has taken oath as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Justice Umar Atta Bandial retired from the post of Chief Justice of Pakistan at midnight, after which Justice Qazi Faiz Isa took oath as the new Chief Justice today.

According to the details, the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice took place at 11:00 in the President’s House where the President of the State, Dr. Arif Alvi, administered the oath to the newly elected Chief Justice, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.

The caretaker prime minister, cabinet members, service chiefs, judges and other officials including lawyers participated in the swearing-in ceremony.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa also became the head of the Judicial Commission. Judges are appointed in the higher judiciary through the Judicial Commission and there are currently two vacancies in the Supreme Court. Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa also became the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The Supreme Judicial Council is a forum for hearing complaints against judges of the Supreme Court. Yesterday, Justice Umar Atta Bandial gave an emotional address to the employees and officers of the Supreme Court and described himself as the setting sun.

It should be noted that Qazi Faiz Isa belongs to Pashin area of ​​Balochistan, the most backward province of Pakistan. He was born on October 26, 1959 in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is the son of late Qazi Muhammad Isa who was at the forefront of Pakistan Movement with Quaid-e-Azam.
