Weekly inflation jumps to 38% due to rising food and fuel prices.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reports that food and non-food item prices increased the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) based inflation for the week ending February 16, 2023, by 2.89 percent.

According to the most recent PBS data released on Friday, the SPI for the week under review in the above group was recorded at 234.77 points, compared to 228.17 points recorded the week before.

Out of 51 items, 34 (66.67 percent) saw price increases, 05 (9.80 percent) saw price decreases, and 12 (23.53 percent) saw price stability. Weekly inflation jumps to 38% due to rising food and fuel prices.
