Islamabad: Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is in American prison, will be met by her sister Fauzia Siddiqui in the American prison at the end of this month.
On Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s request to be transferred to Pakistan from an American prison, a hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court. Equity Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of the Islamabad High Court heard the case.
The court was informed by the Additional Attorney General that Fauzia Siddiqui, Aafia’s sister, has obtained a visa to the United States.
The candidate’s legal advisor said that Fauzia Siddiqui will meet Aafia Siddiqui in the American prison from May 29 to 31. Alongside Fauzia Siddiqui, American legal counselor Clive Smith will likewise meet Aafia Siddiqui.
The candidate’s legal counselor expressed that there ought to be a free specialist for the mental examination of Aafia Siddiqui, on which the court requested that the Service of Outer Undertakings ought to help with giving a specialist.
The court ordered that Aafia Siddiqui’s documents and information be shared with the lawyer. American attorney Clive Smith will guarantee that the information will only be used for the case; the purpose of sharing the information with the American lawyer is to prepare the case.
The document that American attorney Clive Smith shared will remain private, the court stated.
The court coordinated Fauzia Siddiqui to apply at whatever point there is any issue, they will hear the following day.
The court dismissed further becoming aware of the case till June 30.
