Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy of all three formats.
Babar Azam refused to accept PCB’s offer to captain only the Test team. Babar Azam released a statement on social media announcing his resignation from the captaincy of all formats.
He said that becoming number one in white ball cricket was the result of hard work of all the players, giving up the leadership was a difficult decision, it is the right time to leave the captaincy.
Babar Azam said that I will continue to perform as a player in all three formats, I will support the new captain based on my experience, thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for trusting me with this responsibility.
It should be noted that today Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf met Babar Azam in Lahore.
According to sources, in the meeting, Babar Azam was told to bring a new captain for white-ball cricket, however, the PCB offered him only to retain the captain of the Test team.

Sources said that Babar Azam refused the captaincy of all three formats while rejecting PCB’s offer. According to sources, Babar Azam walked out of the meeting after refusing to captain all three formats.
