The Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has given free medical treatment for anyone aged 70 and up in a generous move. The Medical Superintendent (MS), Dr. Javaria Abdullah Malik, announced the program in a circular.

All elderly citizens in the defined age bracket who visit the RIC Outpatient Department (OPD) will receive free medical care beginning immediately.

To ensure a smooth transition, OPD receptionists have been directed to assist in the scheduling of diagnostic tests such as laboratory testing, Echo, ETT, TOE, and ECG, all of which will be supplied at no cost.

This cost waiver will be issued after the patient’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) is verified to validate their senior citizen status. This demonstrates RIC’s dedication to providing high-quality treatment to the older population in Rawalpindi and its neighboring areas. It also emphasizes the institution’s commitment to fostering community health and well-being.
