NUST and NADRA Signed Agreement to Promote R&D and Innovation Initiatives in Biometric Technologies

National University of Sciences and Technology NUST and Nadra Technologies Limited (NTL) have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in research, development and innovation of biometric technologies. The event, held at the NADRA headquarters on Friday, aims to launch strategic partnerships, strengthen linkages between industry and academia.

Nadra Technologies Limited specializes in digital identity solutions through its flagship Pakistan ID Stack, due to which it is recognized as a prominent system integrator. With a successful track record spanning nearly two decades, NTL has consistently provided reliable services in the areas of e-Governance, e-Passport, Smart ID Card, and Citizen Registration.

NTL’s remarkable achievements have recognized it as a leader in digital transformation nationally and globally. NUST is Pakistan’s top computer science university with a global ranking of 160 in engineering and technology. Committed to multidisciplinary higher education, research and innovation, NUST places great emphasis on developing and strengthening linkages between industry and academia.

NEST is a key player in research and development in the fields of contactless biometric and face-life detection technologies. NTL appreciated the innovative initiatives of NUST’s National Software Technology Park (NSTP). Both parties expressed keen interest in developing this biometric application to enhance the provision of modern services to the citizens of Pakistan based on technological advancement in the country.

NTL has expressed its desire to partner with NEST to enhance its knowledge and expertise. System (AFIS) and Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) will support research and development initiatives in other areas. Under this agreement, local innovation in the field of biometric and identity related technologies will be promoted in Pakistan
