The caretaker government has decided to give iPhone installments from January 12 and also said that 5G will be launched in July next year and 300 MHz spectrum will be offered for auction.

the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif said ministry will start another initiative from January 12, 2024 with the support of all other stakeholders of the telecom companies, under which the users will get the latest model phones will be available in IPhone Easy Installment Plans.

He further said that in case of failure to pay the installment, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will block the handset on the lines of Device Identification, Registration and Blocking Systems (DIRBS).

The caretaker federal minister said that the aim is to encourage responsible financial behavior and ensure that smartphone penetration continues to expand, under the policy, telecom companies will provide customers with IPhone Easy Installment Plans.

 There will be an opportunity to offer smartphones directly, thereby expanding the benefits of mobile broadband in Pakistan, especially to the lower income segments.
