Canada Announces Remote Work Visa for Digital Nomads or Freelancers who can temporarily reside in any country by obtaining a visa and continue working online, without having to visit any institution, market or office in that country. The visa granted to them has a duration.
Talented workers are becoming increasingly difficult to find, leading to an increasing number of countries offering visa programs for remote activities while reducing bureaucratic hurdles.
Canada, which has long allowed digital nomads to stay on tourist visas for up to six months, has signaled it is eager to attract foreign workers.
The government says it is working on a new “tech talent strategy” to attract international workers.
The Canadian Government is talking to the provinces and territories about this issue. People are also working on a way for business owners to get approval for a work permit that lasts up to 3 years.

Isabelle Dubois, spokeswoman for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, said in a statement, “We expect that some digital nomads will decide to stay in Canada and seek employment opportunities and provide their skills to employers here.
It will be necessary to submit an application for a temporary work permit and/or permanent residence.
This strategy is designed to meet the needs of highly skilled technology workers who are able to work from home, according to Dubois, and this is the plan that best fits those needs.

The Office of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship in Canada has said they are working hard for people who work from home. More details will be given later this year.
A report from company MBO Partners in August 2023 says that over 17 million Americans, or about one-tenth of all workers, now call themselves digital nomads.
