Islamabad: According to sources within the government, it is unlikely that the Election Commission will receive funds for the elections by April 10.
Additionally, the Election Commission’s spokesperson has confirmed that the organization has not yet received the funds.
However, government sources claim that the Election Commission will not receive funds for the elections until April 10 because the Economic Coordination Committee will not meet until April 10.
The Supreme Court has directed the Finance Ministry to provide the 21 billion rupees that the Election Commission has requested from the government in order to conduct the elections in Punjab by April 10.
The demand of the Election Commission for 15 billion of the 47 billion that were not required for the general election was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee on November 30.
