Misinformation on Social Media
The ministry pointed out that an imaginary document, an office memorandum, was circulating in the social media. This false information was the foundation of the misleading reports. The Public Relations Officer from the ministry denied the existence of such document and encouraged the public to ignore such rumors.
Ongoing Rent Survey
At the moment, the Estate Office under the ministry is in the process of conducting a survey to determine the current market rent for residential facilities. This survey is being carried out in six key locations: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta. To date, the survey is still ongoing, and there is no statement on the new rental rates.
Conclusion
The Ministry of Housing and Works stresses the need to cross-check information before passing it to the public, particularly on government policies and entitlements. They are willing to give accurate information once the survey is over and any official decisions are made.
