ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, a former prime minister and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted protective bail on Monday in seven cases islamabad high court.
The pleas were heard by a bench led by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and IHC CJ Aamer Farooq.
Barrister Salman Safdar, the PTI chief’s attorney, appeared in court at the beginning of the hearing and claimed that they had obtained Khan’s protective bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC), arrived at the judicial complex, but were prevented from proceeding further.
He added, “That day, more FIRs against Imran Khan were filed.” At this point, the IHC CJ asked the lawyer to explain why they didn’t use a forum to get to IHC. CJ IHC responded by stating that the government had “done wrong” by removing Imran Khan’s security. The federal government was also informed of the notices.
