LAHORE: Sabahat Rizvi was the first woman to be elected as the secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) in 150 years. During the LHCBA annual election, Sabahat Rizvi won 4,310 votes, defeating two rival candidates.

Mian Irfan and Qadir Baksh Chahal received 3,745 and 2,627 votes, respectively, ahead of Rizvi.

Rabia Bajwa, a second woman who ran for vice president, won with 3,590 votes, while Shahrukh Shahbaz Warraich won with 7,100 votes for the position of finance secretary. Rizvi was chosen as the LHCBA’s first female secretary in 150 years.

On behalf of the candidates who came out on top, a victory celebration was held at the Lahore High Court (LHC).
