Google to support over 1,500 women developers in Pakistan

This year, in order to help and empower more than 1,550 female developers in five cities, Google has decided to hold seven Women Techmakers (WTM) events in Pakistan.

The seven events, which will include rallies, workshops, conferences, and networking opportunities, will run from March 8 to May. They will teach people about leadership, technical skills, and how to overcome unique obstacles that women in technology face.

This year, #DareToBe will be the IWD theme for WTM events.

The events will be hosted by local WTM ambassadors with assistance from Google, as stated in the press release. Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Farhan S. Qureshi, stated: In conjunction with Women Techmakers (WTM) Ambassadors, these events not only honor the achievements of women in technology but will also encourage more women to enter the rapidly expanding tech industry.
