The “Grow with Google” program was launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) and Google. This program provides 5,000 scholarships for Google certifications that are in high demand. The initiative aims to improve the skills of the province’s youth so that they can look into better career options in the global market and become more competitive globally.

The initiative comes at a time when there are worries about a global shortage of digital skills. Experts have said that a lack of qualified candidates is preventing millions of jobs from being filled. A World Economic Forum report says that a lack of skilled workers could leave over 85 million jobs vacant by 2025.
A recent report from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan warned that Pakistan is experiencing a digital skills gap, with a lack of skilled workers in fields like software development, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
By providing young people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to succeed in the global job market, the “Grow with Google” program will assist in addressing this skill shortage. The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Social Welfare Department, the National Incubation Center Peshawar, and Khawateen Rozgar Services are launching the program together.
